Whitstable U11's unbeaten run came to an end in a high scoring classic at the Belmont.
Chestfield batted first and scored a hefty 314-4. Jaydn Denly, Adam Jacob and Stanley Youll were among the wickets but three overthrow fives in the end proved the undoing of this talented side.
The run chase saw Jacque Barnes and Joel Pickard build a decent start, while Oliver Bratley and Bertie Steward also contributed.
However with 70 need off 4 overs things looked grim.
Enter Bartholomew Johnson. With Denly playing the anchor role, Johnson dismantled the experienced Chestfield attack, scoring an amazing 52 in 4 overs, including 12 fours, only the third Whitstable player in history to reach a half century in this form of cricket, alas despite the last pairs heroic effort the home side finished on 304, ten runs short.
